Being environmentally conscious is one of our core values. We strive for eco-friendly and sustainable resources for our products. As consumers and a small  business, it’s a priority of ours to make better choices for our planet. We intend to lead by example by reducing, re-using and recycling. The health and future of our planet is in all of our hands.

We are proud to announce that we are part of the NoIssue Eco-Packaging Alliance! Joining the alliance is our promise to you, the customer, to provide environmentally conscious products and packaging.

 

 

Hippy Sippy is also a part of the One Tree Planted Program. For every order we make with our custom packaging provider, a tree is planted in an area of need so let’s keep these orders going!

 

 

Our custom tissue packaging is made from acid-free paper and soy-based ink that is FSC Certified.

 

Acid-free paper is paper that if infused in water yields a neutral or basic pH (7 or slightly greater).  It can be made from any cellulose fiber as long as the active acid pulp is eliminated during processing. It is also lignin- and sulfur-free. Acid-free paper addresses the problem of preserving documents and artwork for long periods.

Soy-based ink is, as the name implies, made from soybeans. The oil is refined and then mixed with other environmentally friendly compounds such as natural resins and waxes. The fine bright colors that can be produced with soy-based inks are a result of the soy oil – it is much clearer and less “oily” than petroleum based inks.  As opposed to traditional petroleum-based ink, soy-based ink is more environmentally friendly, might provide more accurate colors, and makes it easier to recycle paper.

 

'FSC' stands for Forest Stewardship Council, an organization that works to promote the practice of sustainable forestry worldwide. The Forest Stewardship Council ensures customers have the option to choose forest products like paper and wood that have been sourced in an environmentally-friendly, socially responsible and economically viable manner.

We are working with our packaging providers to obtain compostable mailers that will be 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
